Michelle O’Grady, Recognized with Sun Rise Honors Award by PRSA-LA for Leadership in Diversity and Inclusion

Michelle O’Grady, CEO and Founder of Team Friday, has been honored with the Sun Rise Honors Award by the Public Relations Society of America’s Los Angeles Chapter (PRSA-LA). The award celebrates individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and influence in advancing diversity and inclusivity within their organizations and industries. 

The Sun Rise Honors Award is a testament to Michelle’s commitment to driving positive change through innovative communication strategies. With a diverse background encompassing philanthropy, research, advocacy, campaigns, and partnerships, O’Grady has emerged as a leading communications expert and strategist. Her adeptness at finding creative solutions to intricate challenges has enabled her to advise foundations, nonprofit organizations, policymakers, and businesses in their efforts to reshape cultures and foster community connections.

Through her leadership, Team Friday has become a driving force in advocating for meaningful change within the industry. O’Grady’s passion for diversity and inclusivity extends beyond her agency as she dedicates herself to multiple boards and collaborative initiatives. Notable among them are the Washington Center for Technology Policy Inclusion, Support Latino Biz, #CASA, and Building Belonging.

O’Grady’s commitment to excellence and innovation has not gone unnoticed. She is recognized as a Google Next Gen Policy Leader and holds a Master’s in Media Psychology from Fielding Graduate University. Her educational journey began at Woodbury University, where she laid the foundation for her trailblazing career.

Michelle, alongside her team and colleagues, will continue to push for more diverse stories to be represented in today’s media.  She is currently working to finish her PhD and studying the future of mixed race and ethnicity and communications within generation Alpha.
